This week we're light on motorsport news, but heavy on music!

A1GP - The A1GPs were in Indonesia two weekends ago, and Jonny Reid and Team Kiwi taught the rest of the field a lesson.

Let's take a trip down memory lane, and play some of the best tracks from 2006. Plus a couple of 'ring-in' tracks to open and close the show!

Seagull Strange - Sulla's Return. "The hook-laden songs draw influences from Eighties synth pop to R.E.M-style melodic rock, but they all share a haunting, dark quality likened to the brooding calm before the storm. A band who really do warrant the label "unique". Evening Post, July '06. More tunes are up at their MySpace page.

Bill Carleton - Taste of Skyroad (Show #7 - March)

Brad Byrd - Gold. From the album 'The Ever Changing Picture'. (Show #11 - April)

Here's a great Dannish indie band; Ehlers/Thejsen with the Art of Loneliness. CD details and more of their music is available on their web site. (Show #29 - July)

The Jellybricks - Can't Be Wrong. Gig details are available on their MySpace page. (Show #22 - May)

Kill Dorathy - Break My Heart. You can order their demo CD from their MySpace page. (Show #13 - April. Thanks Lucia for the intro)

The Rosabella Trio - Let Her Tell Me. (Show #20 - May)

Crofton Orr - When the Morning Comes. (Show #9 - March)

Dropkick - I'm Writing to Santa. Dropkick is a Scottish band who play catchy, countrified pop music with great harmonies and melodies that will stick in your head forever.

Background music: Cargo Cult - 'Wed' (courtesy of Magnatune).

If you like the song, email the artist and let them know. Or, better still, buy a CD!

Thanks for taking the time to listen, particularly those of you who heard these tracks the first time around. Have a great Christmas and New Years everyone.

Rally Wales Videos On YouTube

If listened to the last show, you would have heard me mention John Foster, who was at Rally Wales two weekends ago.

John emailed me to say his videos are now up on YouTube:

Millennium Stadium - Opening Ceremony

Day 1 - Walters Arena

Day 2 - Epynt Stage

Day 3 - Brechfa Stage

Millennium Stadium - Closing Ceremony

These are a 'must-see' for WRC fans.

Also, big thanks to my fellow Sydney-sider Bruce Williams of the Building the Pod and Sine Language podcasts. Via his podcasts, Bruce has been a significant factor in helping me improve the production quality of TDB.

And finally, if you missed the Asia-Pacific Rally championship this year (we don't get any free-to-air coverage here in Sydney), check out Power Pictures. These guys produce the TV coverage for the series, and have just released a season review on DVD.

The next episode of TheDogBox (the first in the 'beach' series), will be out toward the end of this week.

V8 Supercars - The final V8 Supercar round of the year. Rick Kelly and Craig Lowndes started the final race one equal points. But did Kelly intentionally take Lowndes out of the race? Or was Lowdnes guilty of blocking, a charge he laid at the feet of Garth Tander. We've got coverage of all three races in this weeks show. Plus, confrmation of team moves by Paul Dumbrell, Greg Murphy, Andrew Jones and John Bowe.

Tunes by:

The Deer Republic - Fast Cars. From right here in Sydney, 'The Deer Republic' site alcohol and cigarettes as their major influences, so there's two of the five food groups covered. Check out gig dates and more tunes at MySpace.

Adam Toms - Sugar Lips. Adam is originally from Shepparton in country Victoria, but moved to Melbourne, collaborating with Boom Crash Operas Peter Farnan, and award-winning producer Doug Roberts for his debut CD. Adam covers a fair bit of musical teritory from blues, ballads and rock, and you can buy his CD here.

Stereomovers - Love Is. All the way from Montreal. The Stereomovers is Alex and Simon, and over the past two years the boys have working on their debut ep, which is now available for download on iTunes. 'Love Is' is the latest track to be released, and thanks to PMN for providing it.

Towers of London - Air Guitar. Let's finish the show on a loud note! Towers of London are a UK-based alt-rock outfit. This track is off their latest CD 'Blood Sweat and Tears' (through TVT Records), and comes courtesy of the IODA Promonet network.

Thanks to TVT Records and IODA, you can either download "Air Guitar" (MP3, 192kbps) or BUY THIS ALBUM

And, finally, huge thanks to John Foster for the new rally bumpers, taken from a video of Rally Wales he shot last year.

Background music: Cargo Cult - 'Dirt' and 'Wed' (courtesy of Magnatune).

If you like the song, email the artist and let them know. Or, better still, buy a CD!
