And just confirmed, for show #56 I'll be speaking to Henning Solberg just before he competes in the next round of the WRC in Mexico.

Moffat at Monza

I've always been a big Allan Moffat fan. (My brother Keith indoctrinated me from an early age).

Moffat best known as a Ford man, but later in his career, after Ford withdrew from touring car racing in Australia, he joined forces with Mazda and later Peter Brock's Holden Dealer Team.

One of his biggest career wins was in 1987, when he and John Harvey teamed up to win the first round of the World Touring Car Championship at Monza, in a Brock-prepared Commodore.

I'd only ever heard the story of the win; until today. There's a short video of the event up at YouTube that's well worth a look.

A1GP - The A1GP series completes its antipodean sojourn at Eastern Creek, right here in Sydney. And again, Nico Hulkenberg and Jonny Reid dominate proceedings.

Music this week from:

The View Between - Beats. The 5-piece from Stockholm formed in 2004, and this track, is from their current EP, 'Quiet Scene'. Check their MySpace page for details and gig dates.

Vanessa And The O's - Bagatelle. It's taken a year, but I finally have Vanessa and the O's on the show. Check out their web site for where you can grab their debut CD, 'La Ballade d’O'.

The Cloves - A Million Reasons. "Vocal harmonies define the Cloves' sound. Layers on layers of them appear on this debut EP, sweet and expertly put together, like a Dilettante Cafe chocolate torte. The music harks back to the 1960s or early 1970s -- think the Beach Boys' quieter moments." - Seattle Post-Intelligencer

Roenik - We Could Have Been. Roenik are a 5-peice rock outfit from Stockholm, and this track is taken from their 2005 EP 'Unique'.

Background music: Cargo Cult - 'Sunday' (courtesy of Magnatune).

Incidental music by Derek K. Miller.

And special thanks to Gabor Kovacs of The Electrical Language Podcast for voice the Ten-Tenths promo.

This is a blast from the past. A friend emailed me this link today. It's from a mid-80s ATCC race at Symonds Plains, Peter Brock in a Commodore being hounded by Jim Richards in a BMW.
